Meet Our Founder Arianna Herr

Founder & President, HERR Impact Foundation Inc.

If you’ve found your way to this page, I first want to thank you for taking the time to learn about the heart behind HERR Impact Foundation.

My name is Arianna Herr, and HERR Impact Foundation is much more than a nonprofit organization to me it is the result of a lifetime of experiences, challenges, losses, lessons, and an unwavering belief that every person deserves an opportunity to overcome adversity and create a better future.

Growing up, life was not easy.

I was raised in an environment marked by financial hardship, instability, violence, and trauma. My childhood was shaped by circumstances that forced me to grow up much faster than most children should. There were times when survival felt more familiar than security.

My family struggled in ways that many people never see from the outside. I experienced domestic violence within my home, lived through instability, and witnessed challenges that left lasting impacts on my life. At an early age, I learned what it felt like to live without the safety, guidance, and support that every child deserves.

As a young person, I often felt different.

I often felt misunderstood.

I often felt alone.

Eventually, I entered foster care, hoping life would become safer and more stable. Unfortunately, that journey brought its own set of challenges. During my time in foster care, I experienced bullying, trauma, and abuse. When I tried to stand up for myself, I often found myself facing consequences instead of receiving protection. Those experiences eventually led me into the juvenile justice system and exposed me to even more obstacles.

There were moments in my life when I felt invisible.

Moments when I questioned my worth.

Moments when I wondered whether my future would ever be different from my past.

Yet somehow, even during the darkest seasons of my life, a small part of me refused to give up.

I refused to believe that my circumstances would define my destiny.

I refused to believe that pain would have the final word.

And I refused to believe that my story was over.

Along my journey, I also experienced unimaginable loss.

My older brother, Michael Reese better known to those who loved him as Mike-Mike was one of the people who made me feel protected in a world that often felt unsafe. Losing him to gun violence was devastating.

Years later, my family experienced another heartbreaking tragedy when we lost my sister, Kendra Burton, to domestic violence.

Losing both of my siblings changed my life forever.

Their absence created pain that words can never fully describe, but their memories continue to inspire the work I do today. They remind me why this mission matters and why we must continue fighting for safer communities, stronger families, and greater opportunities for those facing hardship.

As I grew older, I also navigated my own journey of identity and self-discovery. It was not always easy, and it often came with misunderstanding and judgment. But those experiences taught me the importance of authenticity, resilience, and self-acceptance. They also deepened my compassion for individuals who feel unseen, unheard, or misunderstood.

What I have learned throughout my life is this:

Many people are not lacking potential.

They are lacking opportunity.

They are lacking support.

They are lacking someone who believes in them.

That realization became the foundation of HERR Impact Foundation.

I founded this organization because I know what it feels like to need help and not know where to turn.

I know what it feels like to carry trauma while trying to build a future.

I know what it feels like to face barriers that seem impossible to overcome.

Most importantly, I know what it feels like when someone sees your circumstances and underestimates your potential.

HERR Impact Foundation exists to challenge that narrative.

The name HERR stands for Hope, Empowerment, Resilience, and Renewal because those four words represent not only my journey, but the journey of so many individuals and families we serve every day.

Hope for a better tomorrow.

Empowerment to create change.

Resilience through adversity.

Renewal through healing and growth.

Today, my mission is simple:

To help people realize that their past does not determine their future.

To help families find stability.

To help survivors find safety.

To help individuals rebuild after hardship.

To help young people discover their worth.

To help communities become stronger.

And to create opportunities for people who simply need someone to believe in them.

I believe every person deserves dignity.

I believe every person deserves opportunity.

I believe every person deserves hope.

And I believe that when we invest in people, we can change lives for generations.

Thank you for taking the time to learn my story and the story behind HERR Impact Foundation.

Whether you are seeking support, making a donation, volunteering, partnering with us, or simply learning more about our work, I am grateful that you are here.

Together, we can create lasting impact.

Together, we can restore hope.

Together, we can empower change.

With gratitude and purpose,

Arianna Herr
